The food and service was delicious. Thanks to Charley and Shirley for great service
Great food and very friendly staff.
Good place to eat and they give you hust enough so your full.
We had our doubts because there were mixed reviews HOWEVER the food was scrumptious. I had the menudo. Now I don't eat spicy food but the menudo was spicy and I finished it. Our server, Jeremy made me a strawberry margarita and it was delicious. My husband had the enchilada, tamale, rice and beans. He said it was very good. The place was super clean and service was very nice. We would definitely eat here again.By the way the flour tortillas are home made and taste great
The menudo was excellent. The customer service was just as good. Great selection made and served by folks who take pride in their product. Good prices too.
Delightful place. Service very good and fast. Food was very good
Loved the atmosphere here! Not to mention amazing New Mexican food!!
Chose this place because it was the closest Mexican food restaurant near our hotel. Wish I would have just order pizza. My 4 kids all ordered the same thing. Wings and onion rings. I ordered fried zucchini. We all had hot chocolate. Total: $110.00What!! Onion rings were $9.00 but my son ordered fries which were $3.75 this place has raised it's prices and raised the in the wrong areas. Hell I could have had a steak dinner for the same price as my kids onion rings. Never again
A steak burrito is just a pounded slab of cheap meat tossed in a tortilla. Looked more like a quesadilla without the cheese than a burrito. Ordered for take out because we are staying at a hotel in Gallup. Didn't include plastic utensils. Kinda hard to eat enchiladas without a fork or a spoon. Hotel lobby for the win on that front. The only positive thing I can say is at least they didn't screw up our daughters hamburger.
Decent Mexican restaurant, little slow and not a place I would visit again
Great food, home made tortillas, Tomales and the staff are wonderful!
Service was not good at all. I didnt have any utensils, I had to eat with my tea stirring spoon. My chips were stale. Server kept ignoring us. It used to be my favorite place to eat.
Very good food and the service is great.
The best enchiladas in town. Nothing compares.
Disappointed that they only had corn tortillas for taco shells.
Authentic! Large, filling portions, wait staff was exemplary. The sauces are all made in house as are the flour tortillas. If you like spice, go for the green chili sauce. Loved the tamales and enchiladas!
Quiet, relaxing place to eat some delicious Mexican food! The sunset view from the wide windows is soothing and beautiful in this desert-like city.
Get the number 3! It is awesome! Love this place!
With a Chinese Massage parlor on one end and a dirty bookstore on the other, I did not hold high hopes for this place. Once inside, I was even more pessimistic as the atmosphere was dated and dingy. ImI glad I trusted other reviewers and stuck it out however, because this may be the most memormemo meal of our trip. Unique blend of Mexican and Native American flavors. The chips were not warm and salsa looked like it came out of a jar, but from there it got much better. The beef stew was very flavorful. The fajitas didn't lookllike much at first, but the homemade flour tortillas we're incredible and the flavor of the carmelized onions and peppers was amazing. We are guessing that they were Hatch green chillies vs standard green peppers because of the stronger flavor and bit of a kick. I will make a point of stopping again on future drives through Gallup.
The best place to eat, enjoyed very much, service was excellent, our server was so down to earth, a very nice Navajo lady.
Service was good but my menu choice lacked flavor. In addition to the disappointing food, numerous people approached our table selling various “wares”. Do not be influenced by the number of cars in the parking lot.
If you go for the food and not the run down appearance you will leave happy and full. The huevos rancheros were perfect as were the chips, guacamole, and salsa. The staff was attentive and very friendly. This is the perfect stop after travelling all day.Basic ,hearty Mexican food.
Just didn't like, food wasn't good
When in Gallup, this is a must eat place! The service and food is great. Serving portions are abundant. Food is fresh and delicious! Highly recommend this place!
The food is always hot and fresh when I come by for lunch or dinner! Enchiladas are delicious highly recommend it.
Food is very delicious & customer service is wonderful! 👍
Food Was Great-Employees Are Very Friendly
It's probably my fault getting the steak at a Mexican place, but the sides were all meh. Soup, mashed potatoes, and corn from a can. But very nice and the meat wasn't bad.
Always good food. Needs some work on there service. But food is very delicious.
Great food and very friendly and efficient staff.
When we went to Virgie's Restaurant, the food was delicious, and the service was friendly. They respected all the pandemic rules.
Very friendly staff! Our waiter was very nice and answered all my menu questions.
Loved it. Hot wings vary hmmmm. Mmmmmmmmm
Authentic New Mexico. Sopapillas are awesome! Don't let the location throw you...great food.
Fantastic! Awesome local spot! The food was great! Service fantastic! And the owner is a treasure! Highly recommend it!
A lot of cigarette smoke, but nice folks and good food
Best Authentic Mexican food ever!! I drive 2 hours just to eat here! My favorite order is the #2 and the Chips and Salsa are delicious!! I can pass through town and just get the Salsa and chips for the road.
The food was delicious, my steak was prepared perfect
We were on our way back home to Colorado and wanted to eat mexican, so we randomly decided to swing by here. So happy we did, the guy at the front (can't remember his name) he was so helpful and even though we dined out to go we were able to try the chips and green Chile sauce. The food was super good, it's all made in house. Very enjoyable! Thank you so much for your hospitality and answering all of our questions!
Green chili enchiladas and tacos 🌮 were the bomb 💣 😋
Maybe because it was a sat. It was busy. Thought I was expecting to much but everyone around us was upset. Food cold or burned. Ridiculous wait time (45 min for cheese enchiladas and bowl of stew) food was almost edible. $30 bill Sooo not worth it. Nope won't be a second go round.
Good Mexican food, excellent friendly service, modest servings.
Good food th a nk you
Good authentic Mexican food. We were treated quickly and with hospitality. Be aware, the soft drinks were good, but mostly ice and no free refills. And that was for $2.25+. We were treating ourselves as we usually avoid pop. Disappointing. Portions were right amount.
This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant in a unlikely location. They make their own tortillas. It's worth stopping just for a flour tortilla. The food is authentic and well-prepared. Don't miss a chance to stop if you are traveling through Gallup.
I usually get the combo plate, but they had Menudo on the menu and it was mighty tasty. The red/green chili is hot so be careful. I love spicy foods, but if you can't handle it, I suggest getting it on the side. It's a good place to go.
The food was great. Just the right amount of spice. Service was good, waiter gave great recommendations.
Ordered the chicken fajitas and the size of the meal was less than expected. Sour cream was in a container and the fountain soft drinks are way over priced. It should not be $3.00 for a large fountain drink with no refills spelled out on the menu. Also, appetizers are overpriced. Cheese sticks should not be $9.99 for an appetizer. Also a constant flow of people coming in and out of the restaurant selling anything from pots, to jewelry and a few other things. As soon as one person leaves another comes in with more things to sell. If I want to shop I will go to a store, not have to constantly say no thank you to someone trying to sell me something. I suppose this a local thing, but not something I want or expect.
Loved the food. You get green chili sauce everywhere in NM, but theirs was a little different. I also like the thicker tortillas.
